Tbilisi: Kus Tba - Turtle Lake - Skilpaddesjøen

Kus Tba er en liten innsjoe som ligger i Tbilisi. Den er i byen, men ligger samtidig saapass oppi fjellsida at stoeyen fra byen ikke naar opp hit. Det er fin gangvei hele veien rundt, kanskje en droey kilometer eller deromkring. Om sommeren er det visst et veldig populaert sted. Vi var der en hoestkveld, og det var fortsatt endel folk der. Det baerer preg av aa vaere anlagt i kommunisttida, i forhold til at det rundt vannet ogsaa er et museum langs veien, idrettsanlegg med tennis og basketbaner, amfi med scene - og sti til et etnografisk museum, som foroevrig har mye til felles med Folkemuseet paa Bygdoey i forhold til aa ha stedstypiske bygg fra hele landet plassert ute i en 'park'.
Kus Tba, or Turtle Lake, is a little lake in Tbilisi. It is in the city, but so far up in the mountainside that the city noises aren't audible here. There is a nice promenade around the lake and in the summer you can hardly move here because it is completely overcrowded. It was clearly manicured during the communist era, as is obvious both from the main restaurant building, the existence of sport fields and playgrounds etc. There is also an amfi theatre in the far end of the lake, with an artificial scene on the water. There is also a footpath from the promenade leading to the ethnography museum, where one can a.o. see buildings from different regions of Georgia placed in the nature. Really nice, although I did not go there yet. We only saw a Svaneti tower from a distance.

Enhver sti med respekt for seg selv har skilt som viser hvor du er og hvor du kommer hvis du velger ulike veier. Saa ogsaa her. Det er 2.200 km til Berlin, 2.400 til Waterloo og ukjent avstand til Stalingrad (Volgograd). Stedene som staar skrevet paa georgisk klarer jeg ikke lese. Dessverre.
Any path with a minimum of self respect has signs telling walkers where they are and where they'll end up if they take various directions. This was no exception. It is 2,200 km to Berlin, 2,400 to Waterloo and unknown distance to Stalingrad (Volgograd). Unfortunately I'm unable to read the signposts that are in Georgian...
